Picking up with the gang stuck in a cave system, surrounded by Alpha’s horde, they begin the difficult journey out. And as they slip and scurry through holes in the rocks, the episode title, Squeeze, begins making sense.

Working as a more up-to-date origin story for Dr. Harleen Quinzel, ‘Harleen’ details the beginnings of a very dangerous relationship.

What I’m Reading – ‘Batman and Robin Vol. 1: Batman Reborn’ by Grant Morrison

Batman is dead! Or so everybody thinks. He’s actually been sent back in time through a complicated series of events involving Darkseid, omega beams, radion bullets – but as far as anyone in Gotham knows, he’s dead. After a brief battle for the cowl, Dick Grayson is the new Batman. And Damian Wayne is the new Robin. It’s up to this oddball pair to restore order to Gotham. And with it being Grant Morrison, things are going to get weird.

Doctor Who – ‘Can You Hear Me?’ Review

Team TARDIS are split up this week, as The Doc drops off the group for a return trip to Sheffield. And this episode has what you’ve come to expect from Doctor Who; science fiction nonsense, spectacle, aliens and monsters (some of the best we’ve had in a while too). But it’s far more concerned with the well-being of the companions, something the show all too rarely touches upon. And we discover that when these guys aren’t battling intergalactic threats, they’re fighting their own demons back home.

Doctor Who – ‘Praxeus’ Review

The universe-shattering events of last week take a backseat, as The Doc tries to once again save the human race from a problem that they’ve kinda got themselves into.

We should’ve been more careful with those micro plastics, guys.

What I’m Reading – ‘Nemesis’ by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven

On a number of occasions, Mark Millar has been referred to as “the poor man’s Garth Ennis” – which I don’t think is entirely fair. But this is one of his edgier stories. Nemesis raises the question; what if Batman was evil?

We Just Watched… Bad Boys for Life (2020)

Seventeen years after the exercise in excess that was Michael Bay’s Bad Boys II we finally get a threequel for a franchise that people feel surprisingly strongly about. And imagine my surprise when the reviews for this instalment weren’t just okay, they were actually great.

Final Crisis is deeply flawed, yet captivating. It’s head-scratching at times, and at others it’s seemingly far too straightforward. Characters will make grand speeches about the nature of good and evil, followed by a dumb joke. It’s Grant Morrison’s take on the epic, crossover event.
