100 Words or Less – Peter Rabbit (2018)

Title – Peter Rabbit

Released – 2018

Director – Will Gluck

Starring – James Corden, Domhnall Gleeson, Rose Byrne, Margot Robbie

Review – A furry, anamorphic James Corden brutally and annoyingly abuses his new neighbour (after 100% totally killing the previous one), pushing him into various surprisingly violent and horror movie-level scenarios, almost murdering him on a few occasions and just being a meanspirited jerk. And it’s all set to the latest (and some weirdly dated) musical cues as a way to avoid having to generate any real emotion from the audience. Apart from a few good moments of Home Alone-esque slapstick and some nice hand-drawn animation, Peter Rabbit is irritating and surprisingly really cruel. That sound you hear is James Corden singing and dancing on Beatrix Potter’s grave.
