The Mask of Zorro is a classic swashbuckling tale from the seasoned director behind some of the best Bond films. Hopkins stars as the ‘classic’ Zorro and Banderas is the young upstart he trains to take up the mask and funny hat. Both are on fine form with Banderas playing the charming thief with a change of heart particularly well. And special mention goes to Matt Letscher as Captain Love, the bad ass and slightly camp henchman. The action and score are brilliant and the swordplay is some of the best around. The Mask of Zorro is an underrated classic.
