Title – Identity
Released – 2003
Director – James Mangold
Starring – John Cusack, Ray Liotta, John Hawkes, Alfred Molina
Review – At first Identity appears to be a simple, old school, who-dunnit thriller with a great cast. Ten strangers are trapped in a Nevada Motel and slowly start getting picked off one by one, but things soon take an unusual twist. Director James Mangold, who directed the awesome 3:10 to Yuma, directs the film brilliantly, with the opening being particularly good. The cast all perform well, with the standouts being Ray Liotta and Deadwood’s John Hawkes. Some may not like the twist, but I enjoyed it and it makes the film into something special and unusual, a must watch.
Good review Tom. The movie doesn’t always work, but for the most part, keeps things interesting enough to be watched.
