If I'm not watching a television show or a film, I'm playing a game or have my nose in a book. "I now believed that the lurking fear was no material thing, but a wolf-fanged ghost that rode the midnight lightning." - H.P. Lovecraft, 'The Lurking Fear'.

Doctor Who – ‘The Battle of Ranskoor Av Kolos’ Review

It’s finale time! And with the promise of guest star Mark Addy, this is primed to be a good episode.

Sadly, it struggles under the weight of all it’s ideas and consequently is a bit of a mess, albeit an entertaining one.

Doctor Who – ‘It Takes You Away’ Review

I can see why so little was revealed about this episode ahead of time. Go in blind because it is a wonderfully ludicrous and bizarre bit of science fiction.

The Walking Dead – ‘Evolution’ Review

It’s the mid-season finale this week which means another big death. But with this character’s exit comes the entrance of a new terrifying villain.

The Walking Dead – ‘Stradivarius’ Review

Was last week a fluke? Can this show exist without a ‘proper’ Grimes at the forefront? This episode has the added challenge of having no Negan either! But, despite that, ‘Stradivarius’ is a fantastic episode that answers some questions, and raises a few more.

Doctor Who – ‘Kerblam!’ Review

This episode is tackling a lot of different issues, taking swipes at Amazon, technology, and those risky robots stealing our jobs. But it struggles a little to keep these plates spinning, in an otherwise exciting adventure.

The Walking Dead – ‘Where Are You Now?’ Review

Rick’s gone! And there’s been a colossal timeskip. How are people holding up without him? Have the communities joined together and become the world Rick and Carl fought for? Not exactly, but there’s hope.

Doctor Who – ‘Demons of the Punjab’ Review

This week we take another excellent trip back in time, this time to 1940’s India. Yaz meets her grandmother on the eve of her wedding day and is very surprised to find the groom is not her grandfather. Add some racism and space assassins into the mix and baby, you got a stew going.

The Walking Dead – ‘What Comes After’ Review

One way or another, Rick Grimes is leaving the show. That might be permanent or it might be slightly less permanent, but he’s going. Read on to see how the show handles it and whether it’s a fitting end to one of the all-time greatest television characters.

The Walking Dead – ‘The Obliged’ Review

This week’s episode lays the foundation for Rick’s exit in the next episode, and it’s an emotional one. Though not an action-packed episode, we get some of the very best character moments we’ve had in a long time.
